Who we are

We are the Coffin Club North London and our objective is to empower people to take control of their final send off and to educate and inform about all the options and choices that are available.

We rureatively, ask questions and ultimately change the face of end-of-life celebrn informative and enjoyable clubs designed to provide a safe space for free discussion about something that can be a taboo subject. We aim to demystify funerals, enable people to think cations in the UK.

Each club runs over 6 weeks and takes the form of an hour’s talk from an invited speaker and then a creative session where participants can assemble and decorate their own flat pack coffin in an effort to break down taboos around death and make difficult conversations easier. They are typically very friendly and welcoming with much laughter as well as more serious discussion and there is always lots of cake! Coffin Club is open to all and does not have a religious affiliation, our attendees, staff and speakers span many beliefs and backgrounds.

The coffin club movement started in New Zealand and has successfully spread globally. Coffin Club in the UK began in Hastings, East Sussex, but there are now clubs springing up all over, we are the first London club.
